Kickboxing is becoming popular day by day because of its various advantages. The concern of safety and security, to increase self confidence and managing of stress levels are also important. Therefore it is not a sport which is played for career aspects only but also to keep oneself fit as a fiddle. Many institutes are coming up with classes in and outside India which can accommodate everyone irrespective of age groups. The International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) is one such organization which promotes kickboxing all over the globe and India is not an exception to it. IKF also organizes events with full contact rules, semi contact rules and amateur rules.
Coming back to joining of classes one should be very careful before joining one, because one should keep in mind that though fitness is a major concern this cannot be achieved if you are a couch potato.
There are a few instructions which one should keep in mind before joining kickboxing classes:
Check your fitness level; it is not feasible to just jump into kickboxing if you have not exercised for a long time. Therefore one should first start with less physical form like aerobics. This way one can allow oneself to start at ones own pace.- If someone is looking out for a good exercise then a low risk involved regimen should be opted. Cardiovascular in such situations is the best form.
- Before joining the classes observe the sessions to see if you are comfortable as you need to start slow and you cannot start rigorous training. This is important since the beginners are more inclined towards injuries.
- Drink a lot of water before and after exercising to keep yourself hydrated.
- Discuss the equipments you need and also the requirements of your class with the instructors. You may need to purchase uniforms and equipments from the training center; this may be a bit expensive.
- Last but not the least confirm a nutritional plan with the instructors and see your doctor for complete physical check-up.
